7 April - First Day

Usually I HATE waking up too early but I had to wake up at 3:30 a.m and I was so excited that I didn't mind! I was finally going to London! LONDON!
When we went to the airport it was still dark outside and when we got in the plane was dark as well so when it started to fly I could see the streets' lights down there and it was beautiful. It was my first flight ever and couldn't have been more perfect. I saw the sun rising through the window and the clouds were above us. I guess I love flying on airplanes right now.

When the airplane started to land all I saw was green places and that was something that I wasn't expecting to see in London. The fact is that the airport was a little bit far from the center so we had to go on a bus for two hours to Victoria and after we buy our passes we went in another bus until Lancaster (I think), but this bus was a "real London bus", that red ones with two levels. I sat in the second floor, of course.

We arrived in the hotel Glendale Hyde Park Hotel. It was very simple and small but all I really needed it was a place where I could sleep so it was okay. We met Inês (my friend who lives in Manchester and also one of my best friends) and her family in the hotel. We were starving so we needed to go lunch and we chose McDonald's because... why not? And let me tell that the vegetarian burger is so much better than the vegetarian burger in Portugal!
After we eat we went to Hamley's Toys Store and it has five floors of that! Five whole levels of toys and people playing and laughing! The people that worked there are payed just to play with the toys and interact with the clients. They looked truly happy about their job and that is so fantastic.
Personally, my favorite floor was the one with things mad with Lego and the Harry Potter corner. When me and Inês saw the Marauder's Map we couldn't help but say "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good".

Then we went to the M&M's Store and right in the moment we stepped into the store we felt the smell of chocolate. M&M's everywhere! I'm not a big fan of M&M's but I had a really good time in that store. I saw M&M's colors that I didn't even know that existed, including pastel color, which ended up to be my favorites. Right before we went out I did a test to see which M&M's color is mine and the result was Red so I'm quite happy with it.

We also went to this central garden in Piccadilly Circus and I like the fact that it was full of people just sitting in the turf, talking to each other, eating or just listening to music. In the center there was a statue of William Shakespeare.
And it's funny to see that this garden wasn't the only one full. Everytime we passed by a green space it was always full of people in the turf.

Later we went to China Town and it was way more amazing than I thought. Chinese restaurants and even chinese pastries with cute cakes and sweets. Red balloons embellishing the buildings and the streets. I really loved it!

We had dinner in a pizzeria and let me tell you that the vegetarian pizza was something amazing! Really good!
After we eat, and in our way back to the hotel we saw the buildings all lighted up and it was beautiful to see. When I thought that London couldn't become more beautiful, the night came and amazed me.
Also, my friend forgot her bus pass in the hotel so we had to walk a lot but, despite the cold, I don't regret it. It was all worth it as I was able to take a few more photos of the beautiful lighted buildings and streets.
