Synopsis: When a letter arrives for unhappy but ordinary Harry Potter, a decade-old secret is revealed to him that apparently he's the last to know. His parents were wizards, killed by a Dark Lord's curse when Harry was just a baby, and which he somehow survived. Leaving his unsympathetic aunt and uncle for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry stumbles upon a sinister mystery when he finds a three-headed dog guarding a room on the third floor. Then he hears of a missing stone with astonishing powers, which could be valuable, dangerous – or both. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
“Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself.”
I can't believe that I finally read the first Harry Potter and I also can't believe that I've waited so long to do it! It's amazing! You can even say it's magical.
At the beggining it was weird because I hadn't read a children's book in a long time. The way that is written i a little bit different from YA books so I found it a little bit strange at first.
I was afraid that the fact that the main characters are about ten years old would make my reading slower or that I wouldn't enjoy it but I finally understood why I've never met anyone who didn't like Harry Potter's books. It's impossible!
I'm not going to write a long review because I don't have anything to say that hadn't been said before about this book.

We met this little boy that lives under the stairs of his aunt and uncle's house, whose parents are dead and whose cousin is always bullying him. Then he is a legend, he is the boy who lived and every wizard or witch knows his name and story.
It is really interesting to see how Harry handles all of this and how he gets to know his own story and the truth about himself.
And let's be honest, Hogwards is our school dream! Forget about Maths, Phisics or Science because here you learn Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions and Herbology. Instead of crying like I do when it comes to Phisical Education, I would be amazed and excited to learn how to fly and even play Quidditch.
And I love the fact that I hadn't time to get bored because it was always something going on. They fight a mountain troll, gobblins run the Bank, invisible cloaks are a real thing, a giant three-head dog named Fluffy... It's so magical and unique and you just hope you're not one of the Muggles.
“There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.”

The characters are awesome! I love Ron, he is hilarious and genuine. Hermione is so smart and dedicated, you see how much she loves to be in Hogwards and when she becames Ron's and Harry's friend you see her loyalty. Hagrid is so funny and a true friend, I think he is almost like a big brother to Harry and I love that. McGonagall is so amazing and I love her and the way she protects her Gryffindor students, specially Harry. And Dumbledore, the crazy headmaster with a big and wise heart.
If you haven't read Harry Potter yet, I recommend it and remember it is never too late to let the magic in.
I can't wait to read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and to have all of the books ( and I really like this UK edition so I'm very glad I have it).
