What can I say about the second book of The Lunar Chronicals? It is so good! Really! If you loved Cinder as much as I did you should definitely read it.
So, Scarlet is the second book of The Lunar Chronicals as I said, is the next book after Cinder.
So like Cinder was kind of a re-telling of Cinderella, Scarlet was a re-telling of Little Red Hiding Hood. But don't get me wrong. Even though you can see what the author is doing about that, the story is completly different just like happened in Cinder and like will probably happen in the next books.
I love the fact that we can easily associate the Little Red Hiding Hood to some details in the book. The red sweat shirt that she is always wearing with a hood, the fact her grandmother went missing, the male main character name is Wolf (at least his nickname), the very temporary and secondary character named Hunter... I mean, Marissa Meyer is a genius! I really, really love the way she can puth these little details into her stories. It's so original amd I love it (once again)!

In this book we see Cinder again and her new "partner in crime" - literally - Carswell Thorne is a new character, very confident about himself, that we get to know in this book. She met him when she was in jail and he kinda helped her out so they run away from there together in his spaceship.
We also see Kai in some chapters and his scenes just broke my heart. His confusion about Cinder and all of that makes me sad because he thinks he was betrayed and deceived by her and I just wanna scream that IT'S NOT HER FAULT THAT SHE IS WHO SHE IS!
Now that character that gives the name to this book: Scarlet Benoit, the red head girl, who works in a farm with her grandma. One day her grandma is gone and no one wants to help her find her because everyone thinks she is just a crazy old lady.
Wolf, the green eyed boy that came out of nowhere nearly to the time that her grandmother went missing. You can almost see what's going on but then you can't.
Wolf made me feel so confused about him. In the beginning, when Scarlet and he fist met, I thought that I was understanding him but then things happen and before I get over that things, other things happened! I was never sure about his feelings for Scarlet or his intentions until the end of the book (and I think I'm still not sure) but I have to admit it.... I LOVE HIM! And although it's a little bit too fast in my opinion, I love the relationship he builts with Scarlet. I ship them so hard it hurts! There is specially a scene between them in the last chapters that really made made my heart melt. I think I've read it to all my friends when I finished the book (and I'm trying so hard to not give you a spoiler).
Queen Levana, always ready to destroy people's lives. Including Cinder, of course, and my baby, Kai. She also kinda try to destroy Scarlet's life but it's not directly. And it's her fault that Wolf is the way he is so I hate her. You will understand what I mean when I say "the way he is" when you read the book.
"I realized I would rather die because I bretrayed them than live because I betrayed you."
The story itself is very good and creative. There were some things that I was already expecting but there was other ones that just surprised me and made me realized how original Marissa Meyer is.
AND THE SHOTGUN SCENE?! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! GO SCARLET!
Both Scarlet and Cinder are such strong characters who fight for the ones they love, and I hope Cress and Winter (in the next books) can give me this same feeling about them.
I think I don't have to say that I really loved this book, right? I think it's obvious. I'm so excited to read the next one! (why are books so expensive?!)

Oh, and I have to say one more thing about the characters... There is a character that will come back for us...(*happy dance*).
I recommend this book so much. I'm serious. Go read it and you won't regret it. I recommend The Lunar Chronicals so far and I can't wait to read Cress!
"She did not know the wolf was a wicked sort of animal and she was not afraid of him"
