Hi! First of all, I'm sorry for any spelling errors, I did my best.

Warm Bodies is a book that is narrated by a zombie called "R" and he tell us the story of his process of change.

His decomposition is not very advanced e if there wasn't his greyish skin, he could pass as a Living one but that doesn´t change his zombie instincts- When he's hungry he have to eat and his favorite food his brains. Brains give him access to the memories of his victims and it's an oportunity for R to feel alive.

In one of his huntings for food he is surprised by the feeling his victim's brain, Perry, gives him, leading him to refuge Perry's girlfriend, Julie, keeping her safe from the other zombies.

After some days with Julie and with the constant presence of Perry in his head, R gets closer to Julie and Julie gets closer to R. That's when the Change begins.

Such a normal thing like dreaming, makes R to believe that he can change and he fights for it with some of the others zombies help, including his loyal friend M.

Against his own nature and against the Living world, R fights for changing, showing that love can break any wall, proving that the plague is not the end of the world and just like a Living can turn into a Dead, a Dead can also turn into a Living.

Want. Take. Live.

These are the steps to Change.

"I eat the brain, and for about thirty seconds I have memories. The it fades and I get uu, and we all stumble out of the city, still cold and grey, but feeling a little better...a little less dead"

In the begining it was a little bit strange for me to read this book. Even though R is a character just like any other one, we usually thing about zombies as empty, hollow beings, that are always wandering slowly and whose sudden and forced absence of a member is indiferent, but R really surprised me with his complex thoughts.

We find ourselves in a frustrated zombie mind who wants to remember his name, his old life or just say a sentence without interruptions. And he wants to understand this new world divided by Linving and the Dead and the constant hunt between them.

He also shows us to have some knowledge about the old world because of the "talks" that he has with M and some of his thoughts.

So when Julie shows up and he make her his responsability we watch the struggle between the instinct of eating her brain and protecting her.

The zombie starts to change and we see a more living R and that incentivate us to keep up with his develop.

I really liked this book but I got borred very easily because of the long descriptions Isaac make. Very well written and very complete but tiring.

About the humor! The unobtrusive humor that he use in the book it's a very nice detail, for the way that attenuate the story avoiding that it turns into a very heavy story.

We not only get to know a zombie's mind towards his repetitive and frustrating life but we also get to know the life of a teenage Living (Perry), also repetitive and frustrating. Perry became a very present character in R's head and not just what was left of his brain. He not only helps the zombie to know Julie better but he also awakes the feelings that contributed for the Change.

I really love the draws in the beggining of the chapters. It gives to the book a very unique and interesting touch.

"I wish I could step into her dreams like she steps into mine."

I recomend this book to the people who haven't seen the movie and to the people who saw it, because you would have some surprises that you will wish it were included in the movie, specially about a zombie's life,

Synopsis;

R is having a no-life crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization. And then he meets a girl. First as his captive, then his reluctant guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn't want to eat this girl—although she looks delicious—he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.
